History, culture and specificities of countries in Latin America. Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)
  • Class attendance - 14 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course provides students with the basic knowledge of history, culture and specificities of countries in Latin America. The history of Latin America covers Pre-Columbian civilizations up to present. Special attention is given to political changes of the 20th century, unsuccessful attempts for democracy and to frequent changes of dictator regimes.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.
Prerequisites
The condition is adequate knowledge of the language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Credit: Active participation in classes and fulfillment of all assignments. Credit test.
