Course content
1. Elementary terminology 2. Crisis in wider context 3. Individual in a crisis 4. Crisis intervention and its definition 5. Professionals in crisis intervention 6. Special forms of crisis intervention 7. The issues of domestic violence

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )
  • Class attendance - 18 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 32 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Students learn about the particular forms of crisis as well as about their development and occurrence in individual's life. Students learn how to distinguish the symptoms of crisis so they are able to respond to the person in crisis in an adequate way. Students adopt the ways of work with an individual in crisis - face-to-face, telephonic or online crisis intervention.

Prerequisites
Special education and consecutive knowledge gained through the educational background.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Didactic test

To gain the credit students must join the seminar and write a semestral thesis. Other demands are specified by the lecturer
