Course content
1. Health and diseases form the social and psychological point of view 2. Chronic diseases and health difficulties as a psychosocial problem 3. Chronic diseases and health difficulties as causes of social problems 4. Psychosomatic diseases 5. Ways to prevent the somatic and psychological diseases and their consequences 6. Health disorders and chronic diseases in childhood 7. Health disorders and chronic diseases in adulthood 8. Somatic diseases in senior age

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence

Learning outcomes
Students get to underestand the psychical and social concequencies of chronic diseases and physical handicap. The stress is posed on the loss of social roles and statuses suffered by chronical ill people. Students will underestand the terms health and disease from the psychological and social point of view.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students write a semestral thesis. Students follow the instructions of the lecturer, they follow the instruction of lenght, topic and content. The thesis must show the knowledge students master through their study hours. The thesis must be accepted by the lecturer, so the student can enter the exam. Examination conditions are set by the lecturer.
