Course content
1. National minorities, present situation and development in the Czech Republic 2. National identity 3. Problem of "being different" 4. Particular features of some national minorities

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )
  • Class attendance - 8 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 52 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Problems and issues of national minorities with special focus on the situation and development in the Czech Republic. Creation and essence of national identity, relations between majority and minorities, the problem of "being different". Particular national minorities in the Czech Republic, their problems and issues.

Special education and consecutive knowledge gained through the educational background.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students must join the seminar and write a semestral thesis. Other demands are specified by the lecturer.
