Course content
1. Introduction of the topics 2. Origins and the development of pedagogy 3. Education and its agents 4. Education process 5. Education system in the Czech Republic 6. Alternative schooling

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence
  • Class attendance - 16 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 25 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 45 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 64 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
In this subject students learn the basic terms of general pedagogy. Students learn about pedagogical science, about the rise, functions and object of general pedagogy, including its relation to other scientific branches. Students also learn about the system of Czech schools and education and about the alternative school systems.

Prerequisites
Special education and consecutive knowledge gained through the educational background.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students write a semestral thesis. Students follow the instructions of the lecturer, they follow the instruction of lenght, topic and content. The thesis must show the knowledge students master through their study hours. The thesis must be accepted by the lecturer, so the student can enter the exam. Examination conditions are set by the lecturer.
