Course content
1. People with Down syndrome 2. Pervasive development disorders 3. Educating people with learning difficulties 4. Caring system and supporting people with learning difficulties

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence
  • Class attendance - 4 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 26 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 55 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 65 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Students will gain the knowledge about the counseling care, methods of educating children, adolescents and the adults with various stages of learning difficulties. Students understand the new trends within caring system for people with learning difficulties.

Prerequisites
Special education and consecutive knowledge gained through the educational background.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students write a semestral thesis. Students follow the instructions of the lecturer, they follow the instruction of lenght, topic and content. The thesis must show the knowledge students master through their study hours. The thesis must be accepted by the lecturer, so the student can enter the exam. Examination conditions are set by the lecturer.
