Course content
The discipline is an introduction into the issues of special education. Students learn the basic special education terminology. Students learn individual disciplines of special education, basic methods, and principles of special education. Students learn the system of special education and care of the people with special needs. Lectures: 1. Introduction of special education (the subject, goal, basic terminology, special education disciplines, interdisciplinary relations). 2. Historical development of special education and its presence. Historical basis of the approach of the society towards people with special needs and disabilities. Integration and inclusion. 3. System of work with people with special needs, legislation. 4. Specific learning disorders (terminology, causes, symptoms). 5. ADD/ADHD syndromes (terminology, causes, symptoms). 6. People with disordered communication (terminology, kinds of the disorder). 7. Talented individuals (terminology, symptoms of the talent, identification of the talented). Seminars: 1. Ethology of health disorders, principles and methods of special education. 2. Reactions of people with health disorders. 3. Family with a child with disorder (parents 'reactions, attitudes of the parents, role of the siblings). 4. Attitudes towards children / adults with special needs, specific learning disorders, re-education. Socialization. 5. Attitudes towards children / adults with ADD/ADHD syndromes, principles of the special education care. Comorbidity. 6. Attitudes towards people with disordered communication, symptomatic speech disorders. 7. Attitudes towards people with talent, ways to support their education. Double excellence Talent and disorder.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Students' portfolio
