Lectures: 1. Basic terminology - stress, depression, trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, demanding life situations, defending mechanisms etc. 2. Crisis - its symptoms, causes, typology of crisis, phases of crisis, risk and protective factors. 3. Individual in crisis - child, young, adult and senior. Family in crisis, community in crisis. 4. Crisis response and its definition - theories, principles. Face-to-face crisis response, telephonic CR. 5. The professional in crisis response - personality, education, training, organizations. 6. Special forms of crisis response. 7. The issue of domestic violence. Seminars: 1. Crisis, typology, solution. 2. Crisis based on a trauma. 3. Introduction to crisis response. Legislation. Ethics. 4. Institutions of crisis response. Personality of the professional in crisis response. 5. Crisis response step by step. Working with emotions. 6. Specific topics in crisis response (children, young ones, seniors ?). 7. Supervision system for the area of crisis response. Prevention of burn-out.

Learning activities and teaching methods

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )

Learning outcomes
|
Students learn the basic terminology and conception, ethology and expert knowledge of crisis as a subjective dangerous event in people's situations. Crisis response is defined here as specialized help for people who are endangered by the crisis. Students learn particular techniques of crisis response and strategies how to treat a person in such situation. Students learn basic principles and ethical demand valid for crisis response. In the broad sense, crisis response is a method of organization and continuity of steps which lead the social work to solve the present situation of a person in crisis.
