Course content
Lectures: 1. Basic terminology (quality, quantity, efficiency, client, user, economization of social services, internal and external effects of quality etc.). 2. Legislation in the CR. 3. Quality standards in social services (overview, definitions, ?). 4. Quality form the clients point of view. 5. Objective and subjective point of view when discussing the quality of social services. 6. Quality in social services - dimensions, foundations, aspects and features of quality in social services. 7. Quality management (as a term, as a systematic reflection and evaluation). Seminars: 1. Practical examples of the quality - supervised discussion, group work. 2. Objective and subjective quality assessment in social services - group work, quality features to be measured. 3. Quality form the clients point of view. Supervised discussion. 4. Economization of the social services - examples, consequences. Supervised discussion, group work. 5. Internal and external effects of raising the quality in an individual social service. Supervised discussion, group work. 6. Features of the quality and their variability in connection to time and kind of a social service. Supervised discussion, group work. 7. Tools and ways to measure quality in social work and social services. Supervised discussion, group work.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Group consultation

Learning outcomes
This discipline offers the point of view on the quality of social services. The goal of the course is to help students understand the evaluation of the quality and the necessity to raise it. The course is oriented on social service in general and also in terms of particular social services and target groups.
