Course content
1. Distinguishing the main qualities which make the social work a people profession 2. Risk factors of the people professions coming from their definition and the definition of their clients groups 3. Stress as an example of the stressful situations in people professions 4. Coping as a general strategy of dealing with the stressful situations in social work 5. Burn-out syndrome and its basic features, ways to realise them 6. Time management as an example of the prevention of the people professions risk situations 7. People professions risk situations that come out of the environment (micro-, mezzo- and macro- level) 8. Ways how to solute the negative consequences of the people professions risk situations 9. Prevention of the people professions risk situations including the negative consequences prevention

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence
  • Class attendance - 8 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 22 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim and the core of the discipline is to help students gain the skill of distinguishing the risk situations when providing social work as a people profession, to help them gain the overview of the possible ways of prevention and solution of such situations. Brief presentation during the seminars will be completed by the practical illustrations and techniques of the experimental pedagogy.

Social issues and consecutive knowledge gained through the educational background.

Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students must join the seminar and write a semestral thesis. Other demands are specified by the lecturer.
