Learning outcomes
The subject follows the course of History of Textile I. Students will get acquainted not only with the development of manufacturing of textiles, starting with fibers and their initial processing through the various stages of linear (yarn) as well as areal (woven and knitted fabrics) production, but also with principles and essence of individual textile technologies. The oldest textiles, documented in the world and the regions in which they were used, are mentioned. The historical stages are selected according to the development stages of the fabric and the state of fabric construction. The context of the development of industry is presented, and both logical contexts and breakthroughs (information on distinguished discoverers and inventors associated with textile manufacturing) are shown. The history, the present and the future of the textile industry are mentioned.
Theoretical and practical knowledge dealing with content of lectures and excercises.
