Course content
Lectures: 1. The introduction to the problematics, healthy lifestyle. 2. Motoric activity and health, motoric regime. Motor apparatus, energy systems. 3. The characteristics of interventional motoric programmes and their production. Promotion-motivational programmes. 4. The development of motoric abilities with the help of interventional motoric programmes. 5. Specifics of interventional programmes for children, women and seniors. 6. The diagnostics of fitness abilities and motoric performance - weight and motoric tests. 7. Damage of motor apparatus by inappropriate training, the principles of compensatory exercises. Seminars: 1. Complex motoric development - the trunk ("core training"). 2. Complex motoric development - upper and lower limbs. 3. The development of speed, strength and endurance motoric abilities. 4. The development of coordination and flexibility. 5. Diagnostics of the condition of motor apparatus - muscle imbalance, muscle tests. 6. Compensatory exercises with the use of balancing tools. 7. Breathing and relaxation exercises.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Motoric and practical working skills training, Lecture, Practicum

  • Preparation for exam - 35 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the problematics of the influence of physical exercise on performance and health of human organism. Students will learn how to develop motoric abilities; the principles of interventional programmes production and how physical exercise supports healthy lifestyle and optimization of body weight. The component of the subject is also the introduction to the most frequent problems in the field of motor apparatus, their prevention and compensatory exercises.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
Prerequisites
Elementary movement skills corresponding to the age characteristics of the student.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Course credit requirements: Active participation at the seminars (attendance at least 80 %), demonstration of the correct technique of a compensatory exercise. Examination requirements: Oral examination.
