Course content
Lectures and exercises: 1. Sport in the environment of the Czech Republic (historical context, management of sport in the Czech Republic). 2. Legislative anchoring of sport in the Czech Republic (Act on Support of Sport, Civil Code, school sport). 3. Sport as part of municipal policy (Law on Regions, Law on Municipalities, budget rules, sports development plans and other strategic documents). 4. Sources of sports funding (funds, subsidies, contributions, volunteering, how to create and submit the correct application). 5. Current state of municipal sports fields. 6. Evaluation of findings and suggestions from the visit to municipal sports grounds. 7. Sport as a source of tourism. 8. Tourism (characteristics, history, current status and trends). 9. Tourism in the legal sense (Ministry for Regional Development, tourism organization, EU). 10. Tourism in the municipal concept (city information center, municipal tourism strategy, sustainability). 11. Municipal information center in practice. 12. Evaluation of findings and suggestions from the visit to the city information center. 13. Preparation for seminar work. 14. Presentation of the seminar work.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Practicum
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the content and principles of the municipal support of sport and tourist trade.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.

Written assignment

Participation in classes, preparation and presentation of seminar work.
