Course content
Thematic areas of the lectures - Health - definition, determinants, assessment of population health. - Physical activity and health, hypokinesia, sedentary lifestyle, health-related fitness. - Physical literacy and its attributes. - Biological basis of the body's reactive and adaptive changes in response to physical activity. - Pathophysiology of physical inactivity. - Health literacy and health promotion. - Nutrition in the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. - Mental health and stress management. Thematic areas of the course: - Body composition, weight management, fundamentals of obesity studies. - Basal and resting energy expenditure, estimation of daily energy requirements, estimation of total daily energy expenditure. - Current topics in physical activity and health literacy in specialist sources - presentation of student work.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Practicum
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with basic kinanthropological concepts (physical activity, physical fitness, sedentary behavior, etc.), especially in the context of their protective or risky effect on the health of the human organism.
