Course content |
During the course, students complete all-day hikes on ski mountaineering skis in a mountainous environment. It will mainly be a ski-touring concept of this industry. The participants of the course will get to know the basic movement on ski mountaineering skis, they will get information about avalanches and avalanche danger; on activities after being hit by an avalanche; about working with avalanche search engines; on first aid during mountain hikes. It includes theoretical information about subjective and objective danger, suitable equipment and weapons, etc. Depending on the snow conditions, the course takes place in residential or commuting form.

Learning outcomes |
Participants of the course will be introduced to the basic movements on ski-mountaineering skis and they will obtain theoretical information related to stays in a winter environment.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation. |
Prerequisites |
Elementary movement skills corresponding to the age characteristics of the student. The student skis down the red difficulty slope in a controlled, smooth and safe manner.

Student's performance analysis
Full active participation in the course. Interest in the issue. Downhill skiing skills (the student skis down a slope of red difficulty in a controlled, smooth and safe manner). Walking on alpine skis for 4 hours at an average speed of 4 km/h. Participation in final races. |
