Course content
1. Diagnostics of swimming skills. 2. Development of basic swimming skills. Games for adaptation to the aquatic environment. 3. Technique and practice of breaststroke swimming - body position. Games for practicing fusion. 4. Technique and practice of breast swimming - work of the lower limbs. Games for practicing breathing. 5. Technique and practice of breaststroke swimming - work of the upper limbs. Interplay of HK and DK. Interplay of HK with breathing. 6. Technique and practice of breaststroke - interplay of HK and DK with breathing. Technique and practice of swimming backstroke and backstroke - body position. 7. Technique and practice of swimming backstroke and crawl - lower limb work with different arm positions. Falls and jumps into water. 8. Technique and practice of crawling - work of the upper limbs, breathing practice. Diving training and underwater orientation. 9. Technique and practice of crawl swimming - interplay of HK and DK in no-breathing, with breathing. Basic turns. 10. Technique and training of the swimming style - work of the upper limbs, breathing. Technical exercises in the backstroke style of swimming, interplay practice. 11. Improving swimming techniques. 12. Modified swimming methods. Weighted swimming. Positioning. 13. Fin swimming. 14. Fulfillment of credit requirements.

Motoric and practical working skills training
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course is focused on mastering the technique of all swimming techniques, competitive dive and turnovers.
The student will be able to swim with the correct technique of selected swimming methods.
Prerequisites
The student is a swimmer.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Written assignment

80% active attendance at exercises is required. Completion of swimming requirements: 1) swim 50 m breaststroke and backstroke using the technique presented in the lesson and according to the swimming rules; 2) swim 25 m swimming crawl using the technique presented in the lesson and according to the swimming rules; 3) correctly apply games to individual basic swimming skills.
