Course content
Seminars: 1. Repetition of correct execution of breaststroke and basic swimming skills. 2. Repetition of the correct execution of backstroke and backstroke swimming. 3. Non-competitive swimming methods - side, backstroke. 4. Ways of immersion. "Treading Water". Swimming underwater. Leap into unknown water. 5. Helping a tired swimmer - individuals, pairs. Hunting items. Improving swimming skills. 6. Overweight, dragging the drowning, pulling out of the water. Swimming over obstacles and with weights. 7. Endurance swimming. 8. Swimming with a handicap (visual, hearing,...). Specifics of swimming for different groups of people (pregnant women, seniors, children). 9. Specifics of medical swimming (post-operative, acute and chronic conditions). The drowning rescue complex. 10. Endurance training. 11. Applied swimming activities - aqua aerobics, water polo. 12. Games in water - chases, game exercises in pairs, in teams, in a team. 13. Jumping into the water. 14. Fulfillment of credit requirements.

  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course is focused on advanced swimming training, endurance training and rescue of drowning people. The student will get acquainted with the preparation and organization of swimming competitions.
The student masters all techniques of swimming and rescue the drowning.
Prerequisites
The student masters all techniques of swimming.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

80% active attendance at exercises is required. Fulfillment of practical requirements: 1) rescue of a drowning swimmer - rescue action without swimming goggles at 50 m; 2) swim 200 m crawl and meet the limit: men 5:30 and women 6:00.
