Course content
|
1. Introduction to the course / field (history, interdisciplinary approach, basic terminology and links etc.). 2. Health and its determinants (living and working environment). 3. Health and its determinants (lifestyle with the main focus on physical activity). 4. Health and its determinants (selected socio-economic factors). 5. The most common non-infectious diseases and health disorders and their basic characteristics. 6. Overview of the onset factors of the most common non-infectious diseases and health disorders. 7. Physical activity as a prevention of the most common non-infectious diseases and health disorders I. 8. Physical activity as a prevention of the most common non-infectious diseases and health disorders II. 9. Physical activity as a part of the intervention program of the most common non-infectious diseases and health disorders I. 10. Physical activity as a part of the intervention program of diseases of affluence II. 11. Current primary, secondary and tertiary prevention programs focusing on physical activity (WHO, EU, national / regional / city prevention programs etc.). 12. Basics of hygiene and epidemiology. 13. Physical inactivity as a pandemic of the 21st century. 14. Credit session.

Learning outcomes
|
Preventive medicine provides knowledge and skills in the field of health promotion and protection, health maintenance and development, especially through a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, nutrition, but also in the context of all crucial determinants of health, acquaints with individual health determinants, the effective provision of information on identified risks and the direct threat to the health of individuals, families and communities. It introduces the methods of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention at the individual, group and community level. It uses knowledge from scientific disciplines - medical, social, pedagogical, psychological. The subject is an essential part of health care. It allows the application of acquired knowledge in further study.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
