Course content
Seminars: 1. Introductory lecture, acquaintance with requirements. 2. Musical-movement rhythm, movement expression of basic components of music. 3. Rhythmic gymnastics - exercises without equipment. 4. Rhythmic gymnastics - exercises with equipment (skipping rope). 5. Rhythmic gymnastics - exercises with equipment (hoop and ball). 6. Rhythmic gymnastics - training and fulfillment of credit requirements. 7. Folk dances - basic movement training, Polka. 8. Folk dances - Mazurka, Sousedská. 9. Ballroom dancing - English Waltz, Waltz. 10. Ballroom dancing - Cha-cha, Jive. 11. Dance IDO - Hip-hop, Disco. 12. Acrobatic rock and roll. 13. Movement composition. 14. Credit session

Learning activities and teaching methods
Motoric and practical working skills training, Practicum
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 35 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course is focused on the acquisition of gymnastic movement skills in terms of methodology and didactics of rhythmic gymnastics. It brings the student basic theoretical and practical skills in the field of folk and sports dance. The theoretical part includes the history of individual dance, the acquisition of general dance terminology and acquaintance with the basic principles of particular techniques. The practical part contains basic dance variations, coordination and rhythmic exercises.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
Prerequisites
Elementary movement skills corresponding to the age characteristics of the student.

Assessment methods and criteria
Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Course credit requirements: Active participation at the seminars, elaboration of seminar project, practical credits - reproduction of musical-movement rhythmic pattern, set with skipping rope to music, performance of selected ballroom dance in pairs, group movement composition.
