Course content
Lectures and seminars: 1. The introduction to the problematics of an outdoor stay - significance, possibilities, history, trends. 2. The possibilities of "synthetic" environment, influenced by the activities of people, for leisure activities, modern conception of an outdoor stay. 3. The phenomenon of X-sports and activities, adrenalin and extreme sports, trends, famous figures, development. 4. Production and protection of the environment in the context of outdoor education and outdoor recreation, the system of environment protection. 5. Touristic activities, history, development, types of tourism, organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad. 6. Organizations influencing the field of outdoor stay and outdoor education in the Czech Republic and abroad. 7. Experiential pedagogy, adventure. Outdoor programmes, survival programmes. 8. Organization and conduction of outdoor activities - preparation, conduction and evaluation of the programmes, legislative security. 9. Conduction methodology of outdoor events. 10. Safety at outdoor events, age adequacy, the personality of an instructor/the personality of a client. 11. Crisis situations during leisure events and activities, sequence of solution, model situations. 12. Equipment for leisure and professionally oriented outdoor stays, equipment of clients, equipment of the initiator of events, technical security. 13. The competences for realization of outdoor stays, guide's and leader's activity, educational systems, dangers. 14. Credit requirements. Consultation, summary.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The subject leads to understanding of the significance of outdoor recreation and education. Students will acquire the basic knowledge concerning the history of outdoor education in the Czech Republic and abroad as well as the possibilities to utilize outdoor programmes in the field of education. Furthermore, students will receive information concerning outdoor education and its influence on a human being, they will familiarize themselves with the philosophical and ecological aspects of outdoor education and with the basic methodology of event conduction.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Oral presentation of self-study

Credit requirements: Participation in classes (80% attendance), submission and presentation of the assigned project. Oral exam.
