Course content
Lectures and seminars: 1. Description of basic terms and definitions: sport, sports activities, leisure time, leisure activities, the meaning and function of leisure time. Semester project assignment. 2. Leisure time in the context of historical development, basic classification of leisure activities, leisure time and its importance in different age groups. 3. Sport. Sports activities, categorization, forms, trends, factors influencing sports activities. 4. Values, value system, pyramid of values. Subjective and objective values. Individual motivation. 5. Development trends and tendencies in today's society with regard to sports and leisure activities, basic characteristics, support of physical activity and its importance in leisure time. 6. Experiences with regard to leisure activities. History, development, trends. 7. Sports and leisure activities in the context of public policy, leisure and communal policy, creating conditions for active leisure time spending, communal recreation and basic principles of leisure management. 8. Typology of facilities for sports and leisure, parks, open spaces, playgrounds, leisure centres, sports facilities, the current state and progression tendencies. 9. Game and dramaturgy of games with regard to sports and leisure programs. 10. Sports and leisure organizations for different age categories, educational leisure institutions. Examples of active recreation projects for different age groups with a focus on children and seniors. 11. Types of travel agencies, areas of activity, definition of competencies, personnel requirements. 12. Leisure and sport as a commodity, a holistic view of the issue. Financing of sports and leisure activities. 13. Application of leisure professionals and their application in practice. 14. Credit session. Tuition.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theory of sports and leisure activities.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.

Aktivní přístup a zájem o problematiku.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written assignment

Credit requirements: Participation in exercises (80% attendance). Creation, submission and presentation of the assigned project by the specified date. The project must meet the specified criteria. Examination requirements: Oral examination.
