Course content
Lectures: 1. The aims and tasks of health and compensatory activities. Types of weakening and their inclusion into Health Physical Education. 2. Types of movements according to their manner. The components of movement. Compensatory exercises. 3. Organizational forms of health and compensatory activities. Exercise unit, home exercise, half-day, one-day, two-day and weekend events. Methods of activisation. Physical-education moments. Recondition stays. 4. Weakening of motor system. Weakening of the trunk: kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis, post-injury and post-operational conditions. Weakening of upper and lower limbs. 5. Weakening of the respiratory system: bronchitis, asthma bronchial, post-pneumonic conditions, laryngitis and malfunction. 6. Weakening of cardiovascular system: functional and organic disorders. 7. Metabolic and endocrinological weakening: diabetes, obesity, endocrine disorders. Gynaecological weakening: disorders of menstrual cycle, inflammatory conditions, post-operational conditions. 8. Nervous and neuropsychological weakening: inflammatory conditions, conditions of attack, neuroses, epilepsy, ADHD, post-cerebral-palsy conditions, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis. 9. Sensory weakening: sight disorders, hearing disorders. 10. The basic terminology of psychomotorics. 11. Diagnostics of motoric competences. 12. Weakening and disorders in the psychomotor development and their symptoms. Motoric clumsiness and dyspraxia. 13. Psychomotorical programmes of intervention. 14. Experiential pedagogy. Seminars: 1. Weakening of motor system. Straight posture. 2. The selection of exercises to influence the straight posture in the basic positions. 3. Muscle imbalance. 4. Breath. Breathing exercises. The influence of body positions on breathing. 5. The selection of exercises to develop diaphragmatic and pectoral breathing. 6. Application of relaxation exercises. 7. The practice of relaxation after stretching, the practice of local, global and differentiated relaxation. 8. The selection of exercises for compensation of kyphotic posture and flat back. 9. The selection of exercises for compensation of hyperlordotic posture. 10. The selection of exercises for compensation of scoliotic posture. 11. Exercise unit concerning weakening of motor system. 12. Exercise unit concerning cardiovascular weakening.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is the introduction to the problematics of health and compensatory exercises. This includes the characteristics of health and compensatory exercises, types of weakening, muscle imbalance, basic tools of compensation, description of compensatory exercises, breathing exercises, psychomotorics and relaxation exercises, types of movements according to their manner. In the psychomotorical part, students are familiarized with the basic terminology of psychomotorics, diagnostics of motoric competence and possible approaches of intervention in pedagogical practice.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
Prerequisites
Elementary movement skills corresponding to the age characteristics of the student.

Course credit requirements: Active participation at the seminars, written test.
