Course content
Lectures: 1. Job description of the director, deputy director and leading educators in a leisure organization. The model organization is the Children and Youth Centre "DDM Větrník" in Liberec - legislation vs practice. 2. Legislation necessary for the operation of leisure organizations. (presented on the model of DDM Větrník Liberec). 3. Documentation necessary for the operation of Children and Youth Centres and other leisure organizations. 4. The range of activities of DDM Větrník Liberec - the possibility of overlapping the activities of the organization. 5. Personnel issues and agenda in leisure organizations with regard to non-formal education. 6. Planning and evaluation of pedagogical activities for non-formal education. 7. Operational affairs of leisure time organizations (model DDM Větrník Liberec). 8. Financing and budget of leisure organizations. Founders, operators, revenues and costs. 9. Additional activities of leisure organizations. 10. Projects, grants, subsidies, donations. 11. PR of DDM Liberec. 12. Cooperation of DDM with other organizations. 13. Issues that managers of leisure organizations and Children and Youth Centres face and their opportunities to react on them. 14. Psychological aspects of the managers in Children and Youth Centres.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 26 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the non-formal education in the Czech Republic.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
