Course content

The aim of the subject is to deepen knowledge on basic methods concerning mathematical statistics and data analysis and to acquaint with more advanced methods, with great emphasis on multidimensional methods. The topics discussed should address the needs of Ph.D. students for their professional work. Alternative procedures concerning statistical procedures based on the assumption of normality: nonparametric and robust procedures. L and Mestimates, sequence tests, correlation analysis. Linear regression, tests and regression estimates, basics of regression diagnostics. Multidimensional statistical analysis: concept of reliability area, basic estimates and tests, Hotelling test. Principal component method, factor analysis. Selected articles on statistical control of quality and reliability.
