Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of mechanical systems design with the possibilities of using CAD and FEM tools. After completing the course the student will be able to read technical documentation, perform basic construction, will be able to correctly choose materials with regard to their specific properties, define loads and perform basic calculations of stiffness of mechanical systems. Students will also learn the basic procedures for writing technical reports and preparing technical documentation.
Student gets basic knowledge of design and manufacturing of precise mechanics systems. Students will be educated on the issue of preparation of technical documentation, including 3D model and results of analyses.
Prerequisites
Students should be familiar with technical documentation and properties of common engineering materials
Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Presentation of student research activity
Requirements for getting a credit are activity at the tutorials and preparation and presentation of the project. Examination is written and oral form.
