Course content
|
The content of the course consists of the following thematic units for the area of assembly: 1. Introduction, characteristics of assembly. Types and breakdown of assembly processes. Dimensional chains. Assembly activities and assembly techniques. Organisation of assembly workplaces. 2. Basic ergonomics, ergonomic aspects of workplace design and work environment, elements of workstations for the worker, material and tool handling, lighting, noise, vibration, microclimate. 3. Technical preparation of assembly. Assembly procedure. 4. Automation and robotization of assembly. 5. Warehouse management and warehouse automation and robotization. Strategies for inventory optimization. Transport and logistics. And these thematic units for the field of metrology: 6. History of metrology. Metrology and its main tasks. Important legislative and technical documents in metrology. Basic concepts in metrology. Importance of metrology for engineering. National metrology system of the Czech Republic. 7. Metrological continuity and standards, definition of terms and definitions, chain of continuity. Classification of measuring instruments according to the Metrology Act (standards, working measuring instruments established, working measuring instruments not established, certified reference and other reference materials. Verification and calibration of measuring instruments in practice. 8. Calibration. Verification. Re-calibration interval. 9. Measurement errors and uncertainties. Measurement errors, random errors, systematic errors. Uncertainties of measurement, types of uncertainties, basic procedure for determining uncertainties (standard uncertainty type A, standard uncertainty type B, combined uncertainty, expanded uncertainty). Designing a measurement experiment. Selection of measuring instruments. Selection of experimental points on samples. Choice of measurement method. Mathematical and statistical basis of measurement evaluation. 10. Metrological rules. Verification of established measuring instruments in practice.

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the problems of engineering metrology and assembly technologies.

Credit: A condition for the award of credit is the successful submission of a term paper on the selected topic. Another condition is at least 80% attendance at the tutorials. Examination: successful completion of the written examination - the test for the assembly area and the test for the metrology area.
