Course content
|
Lectures (topics): 1. Current approach in HRM, strategic HRM, trends from the perspective of globalisation and digitalisation. 2. Legislative Framework of HRM, labour market and HRM Module I - Specifics of HRM in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) 3. - 5. Specifics of planning in HRM, recruitment and selection, competency based model in SMEs. 6. - 7. Induction process in SMEs. 8. - 9. Employee retention in SMEs (talent management, training and development, evaluation, remuneration, motivation and engagement). Dismissal of employees, risk of employee turnover, outplacement. Module II Specifics of HRM in corporations 10. - 12. HRM processes in corporations (Specifics of recruitment and selection, employee retention, evaluation of employees, social media in HRM) Module III - Specifics of HRM in international environment 13. - 14. Employer branding, HR marketing and corporate culture. Seminars (topics): The aim of seminars is to develop knowledge of students in career management (HRM from perspective of candidate in the labour market). Seminars provide practical training of specific issues in each module. During seminars student also present projects on selected topics. They practice topics as career analysis and recruitment, competences, personal brand, CV, cover letter, selection process and interview, practising of the assessment centre. Activities within the course are part of the blended intensive programme BIP.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to prepare students in selected parts human resource management (HRM) in 3 different modules, mainly specifics of HRM in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), large corporations and specifics of the international business environment. It introduces activities of HRM from perspective of managers, HR specialist and employees/candidates. It follows current trends in HRM from the perspective of the theory of HRM and its practical use in organisations, it helps students to get know different techniques, approaches, tools and practical application of HRM in modern organisations according to specifics of these 3 modules.

Combined examination, Written exam, Oral presentation of self-study
Credit: Active participation in seminars, presentation of project topics from modules. Exam: Obtaining at least 60% of points in total from seminar activities and an exam.
