Course content
Lectures: 1. Definition of managerial functions and activities. 2. History of management theories. 3. Profile of managers - style of work, selfmanagement, time management, mobbing, bossing. 4. Planning. Strategic planning, tools, vision, mission, strategy. 5. Organisation environment, structures, new trends in organising. 6. Decision making process and managerial activities. 7. Human resource management. 8. Communication, verbal and non verbal, assertiveness. 9. Motivation, motivation theories. 10. Leading, coaching, empowerment. 11. Quality management. Basic tools, methods of quality control. 12. Information system and its role for managers (MIS). 13. Management of changes. 14. New trends in management of organisations.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence
  • Class attendance - 21 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with managerial activities and their practical reflection in the organizations, to provide students with the knowledge how to analyze processes in the organizations and to discuss all what is relevant for their work in the teams; also to acquaint students with techniques and procedures used by the managers in the modern organizations.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Written exam

Written test, evaluated by 70 points. To pass the exam, students have to reach at least 60 % of total points from the subject.
