Course content
The course focuses on 3D modelling using CAD/CAE systems such as PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Ansys APDL and Ansys Workbench. The lectures and exercises will emphasize understanding the basic principles of designing structural systems and mechanisms, from designing and selecting concepts, performing patent research and analysis, developing a design solution including material selection, producing a computational report using numerical modeling, creating a 3D model of the assembly, and producing technical documentation. Students will work on design projects individually or through team collaboration that will lead to the fundamental principles of effectively achieving innovation in various engineering problem areas.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)
Learning outcomes
The course focuses on 3D modelling using CAD/CAE systems such as PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Ansys APDL and Ansys Workbench. The aim of the course is to broaden and deepen the knowledge in the field of design through 3D CAD. The course integrates the knowledge acquired mainly from the subjects focused on design, technology, materials, solid mechanics, flexibility and strength, machine parts and mechanisms.
Students will gain knowledge in a given subject in accordance with the objective and content.
Prerequisites
Passing the KST/CSI course

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation of self-study

Active participation in exercises, meeting deadlines for continuous checks of individual stages of the solution set when assigning the task, developing and accepting separate design tasks.
