Course content
The intent of the subject is focused on concrete theme of dissertation work. There are this main topics: Basic elements of measurement devices; principles, features and types of measurement devices; types and characteristics of measurement signals; signal evaluating. Elements of measuring chain; standard interfaces used in measurement technique; centralized and distributed measurement systems; methods of measurements of temperature, mechanical and some physical-chemical values and sensors for measurement of this values; data collection and evaluating of measurement results; measurement software.

Learning outcomes
Doctoral candidates' acquaintance with measurement technique (sensors, measurement devices and their connection to evaluating machines, measurement methods and methods of evaluating measurement results) is the main topic of this subject. Students use this techniques by solving tasks in their dissertation works.
The ability of using of measurement technique by making experiments and the evaluating of measured data.
Prerequisites
Successful graduation of magister study on faculty of mechanical engineering or on similar faculty, interest in measurement technique and in data evaluation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Knowledge of mathematics and physics demanded on graduates of faculty of mechanical engineering and basic knowledge of measurement technique.
