The course "Selected topics in chemistry" is designed to provide a deeper knowledge of selected parts of chemistry. The course focuses on the following areas: General and physical chemistry - weak non-covalent interactions in the context of self-assembly of nano and micromaterials and adsorption of substances on their surface, dispersion systems (nanomaterials), colloid chemistry. Inorganic chemistry - quantum dot chemistry, properties and reactivity of selected inorganic nano and micromaterials. Organic chemistry - chemistry of polymers and natural substances used for preparation and modification of nano and micro materials, mechanisms of organic reactions used in materials chemistry. In addition, specific chemical procedures are discussed with students in individual consultations, which they apply in the creative part of their studies in the DSP. On the basis of the consultations, students are recommended further current literature (research articles).
