Learning outcomes
This course is taught in the form of studio teaching. There is four material orientations: textiles, clothing, glass, jewelry in this couorse. Textile The studio is focused on the artistic processing of textile material and materials from fibrous structures, finishing technological processes. The conceptual implementation proposal is based on artistic solutions and material and technological tests. The area of implementation is occupied by clothing and interior use of textiles, including overlaps into free creation. Supports the study individual approach to the use of technology. Clothing The studio is focused on understanding "clothing" as an author's artistic whole in all its aspects and as a reflection cultural events and lifestyles. The assigned topic of the course responds to the current experimental development in the field of clothing design, on new technologies and materials. The creation of the clothing collection is based on creative artwork with and including materials application of non-traditional, developmental or available smart materials (luminescent, electrically conductive or metallic fiber, smart thermo- or photochromic dyes, etc.). Teaching is based on an experiment with material, form, editing and technology. These experiments are supported by craftsmanship, a tailoring tradition. Glass The studio is designed on the tradition of glass production, deep experience and a high standard of glass education, which are characteristic features of the region. The main medium is glass, the qualities of which students have the opportunity to analyze and project into your design visions as a stimulus for your own projects. When designing, emphasis is placed on complex concept of the content of assigned tasks? from the drawing sketch through the model or functional prototype to the presentation of the project. Atelier presupposes close cooperation with practice. Jewel The studio is focused on jewelry as an artifact. The concept of teaching the subject is based on understanding the approach to the work of art - jewelry, how to grasp it, understand it and how to interpret it. This is a problem of material and spatial transformation of the object - jewelry in relation to current technologies with regard to the historical context of spatial creation, interdisciplinary connections and overlaps related to the change of contemporary visuality. Jewelry can be created as an artifact that defines our identity in sociocultural relationships. Associated with this are the meanings of its function, shape and properties of the material used.
Presentation of the created work on the given topic and its defense before the art commission.
