Lectures: 1. Design of woven fabrics. Creating suggestions. Sources and means of designing weaves and patterns of fabrics and knits. Influence of material, technology, color and visual elements on the patterning of woven fabrics. Pattern, raport, parameters. 2. Trends of woven patterns and products in the fashion periods. Relation between technology and fabric structure. Weaves influence on design and properties of woven fabrics. Consumer's demand. 3.- 4. Principle of basic and derived weaves according to used structural and technological elements conditions. Techniques of weaves. 5. Patterning of dobby woven fabrics. Examples of current products. 6. Patterning of jacquard woven fabrics. Examples of current products. 7. Possibilities of designing weaven fabrics using CAD systems for designer needs. 8. Design of knitwear. Creating suggestions. Sources and means of designing and patterning of knitwear. Influence of material, technology, color and visual elements on the patterning of knitting. Pattern, raport, parameters. 9. Trends of knitted patterns and products in the period. Relation of technology - structure of knitted fabric. Formation and influence of knitting bond. Properties of knitted fabrics from the consumer's point of view. 10. The principle of knitting of basic and derived knitting bindings according to used structural elements and technological conditions. 11. - 12. Color, plastic and weave pattern knitting. Overview of patterns. Examples of current products. 13. Special possibilities for designing flat and spatial knitting, influencing properties and creating new knitted structures. 14. Possibilities of designing knitted fabrics using CAD systems for designer needs. Exercises: The exercise program logically follows the problems of lectures. Students work in relevant technology laboratories (weaving and knitting). Within the semester, students will acquire practical technological skills, acquire the principles of design with respect to restrictive conditions and implement their own proposals in the material.
