Course content
Lectures: 1.-2. Course information and schedule. Lecture on the topic. 3.-4. Working with information - fashion trends and commercial requirements. Working with the pattern and its application in jacquard fabric, jacquard knitting and printing. 5.-6. Fabric design. Raporting and color variations. 7.-8. Parameters and conditions for textile printing. 9. -10. Parameters and conditions for designing jacquard fabric. 11.-12. Parameters and conditions for designing jacquard knitwear. 13. 14. Textile sample preparation, presentation and portfolio preparation. Exercises: 1. Finding inspiration on a given topic. 2. Preparation of initial designs in various art techniques. 3. Present initial proposals and discussions with regard to current fashion trends. 4. Selection of final design for processing in individual technologies. 5. Pattern processing for textile printing using Adobe Photoshop. 6. Digital print according to schedule. 7. Pattern design for jacquard fabric using DesignScope Victor (EAT). 8. Pattern design for Jacquard fabric using DesignScope victor (EAT). 9. Processing of a pattern for jacquard knitting using computer technology. 10. Knitting according to schedule. 11. Weaving according to schedule. 12. Adjustment of realized fabric samples. 13. Portfolio creation including design of designed textiles in interior or for clothing. 14. Credit.

Learning outcomes
Study of the given topic with regard to the specifics of textile technologies. Design of designs on a given topic and their classification in relation to application in fabric, knitting and printing. Own design work, elaboration of selected topics, coloristic solution. Realization in three textile technologies. Elaboration of designs and implementation of samples into the presentation portfolio, public evaluation and defense of the submitted semestral work.
Designer knowledge for designing woven fabrics, knitted fabrics and printed patterns.
Prerequisites
Professional knowledge acquired during study.

Assessment methods and criteria
Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio, Oral presentation of self-study

Credit: active participation in lectures and joint exercises, realization of outputs in individual laboratories according to schedule, elaboration and submission of portfolio. Exam: public presentation and defense of the project.
