Course content
|
Exercises: 1. Introduction to given topics for glass and jewelry, discussion of materials and their use for glass and jewelry. 2. Exercise in material (glass - painting, engraving, grinding, sanding, cutting; jewellery - drilling, bending, beating, soldering). 3. Principles of designing and designing for a given technology. 4. Composition studies of sketches, designs and models in several variants. 5. Scale and proportion studies in design and model processing. 6.-7. Material tests in glass, metal and selected materials. 8.-9. Selection of materials for glass making and technological tests, choice of shapes and jewellery components and evaluation of technological processes. 10.-12. Realization in school workshops or in specialized operations. 13. Finalization of jewellery and glass object. 14. Submission of work on semester classification before the committee.

Learning outcomes
|
Designing jewellery and glass - art acquaintance with glass, its morphology and color, techniques of shaping. The purpose of the course for jewellery is to familiarize with metals and materials used for jewelry creation. Designing and developing them is based on the basic principles of sorting and folding individual shapes and different types of materials. Composition of traditional and unconventional materials for jewelry design, variability of sorting elements. This course is taught in the form of studio teaching.
Within this subject student gains practical experience from his field of study.

Prerequisites
|
Professional knowledge acquired in previous studies. The condition is a fulfilled subject Basics of textile and clothing design (KDE/ZAN1).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Presentation of artistic and creative activities
Credit: active participation in seminars, presentation of semester assignments. Examination: submission and defense of semester work in front of the committee at the final semester exhibition.
