The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of certification and standardization in the range of textile goods. Students are introduced to the legislative framework related to the marketing of textile products in the Czech Republic/EU. In the context of Czech/EU legislation, the area of mandatory and optional conformity assessment is covered, including the EU modular system for conformity assessment of specified products and connecting the CE mark, information obligations of the manufacturer and voluntary labelling in the form of quality or environmental labels. Emphasis is placed on ensuring the safety of textile products, including products intended for children under 3 years of age. Particular attention is paid to type I, II and III environmental labelling. In the context of eco-labelling, students are introduced to related legislation and basic standards and rules for the application of eco-labelling in practice, including the basics of LCA methodology, calculation of partial carbon footprint of selected phases of the life cycle of a textile product and the self-declared environmental claim "extended life product". The student completing the course is thus comprehensively oriented in legislation, standards and voluntary labelling related to the introduction of a textile product on the Czech market. Detailed knowledge of individual documents is not required, but an orientation in the given issue.
The student is able to orientate himself/herself in the legislation and standards related to the introduction of textile products on the Czech market, the requirements for their safety, consumer protection and voluntary labelling related to the quality and environmental impact of textile products on the Czech market
