Course content
Seminars (topics): 1. Drafting the assignment - main content of the diploma thesis. 2. Relationship between diploma thesis supervisor and student. 3. Proposal of the main parts of the diploma thesis. 4. Methods of diploma thesis elaboration. Student will become familiar with the selected topic and prepare a plan of experiments. If necessary, student will realize pilot tests in order to verify whether the topic is suitable and solvable for diploma thesis both from a professional and formal point of view. The student prepares a presentation which he / she will deliver at the seminar in front of a committee of academic staff - experts in the given field.

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit: The aim of the course is to acquaint students with how to proceed correctly when solving a diploma thesis within the study program. Students are explained the basic rules for processing professional texts and are informed about the content and formal requirements of the thesis and the way of their presentation. Students discuss the topic with the supervisor and are systematically guided to the correct solution of the thesis topic.
Student is able to work up given theme in the technical field.

Theoretical knowledge acquired during study.

Credit: Preparation of professional commented research concerning the selected problem, preparation of an experiment plan and verification of current information. Processing information in written form under the supervision of the supervisor and consultant. Usually public defense of achieved partial results / outputs in the form of power-point presentation.
