Course content
Lectures: 1. Quality management system according to a set of standards ISO 9000 2. The conformity assessment procedures, mandatory certification 3. Seven quality management tools 4. Network charts 5. Measuring of customers satisfaction 6. Quality management in the pre-production phase 7. Quality management and measurement system analysis 8. Audit and self-assessment in quality management systems 9. Benchmarking 10. Other methods and approaches to the quality management system - TQM, Kaizen, Six-sigma 11. Quality and environment, environmental management system 12. Management system for safety and health at work, integrated management system 13. Other selected techniques associated with quality management 14. Free lecture theme

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Group consultation, Lecture, Practicum, E-learning

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive view of quality and quality assurance including basic orientation in related legislation and valid ISO standards. Students will be acquainted with the set of ISO 9000 stadards. Especial attention will be paid to the selected requirements of the ISO 9001 standard: quality planing in the pre-production phase, measuring of stisfaction of external customers, audit ets. Students will be also briefly introduced to other approaches to quality management systems: TQM, Six-sigma and Kaizen. Students are also acquainted with the relationship between quality and the environment. The issue of environmental management system and occupational health and safety management system is included. Emphasis is placed on the requirement for continuous improvement of quality.
Students will acquire knowledge of the subject.
