Course content
Individual study of selected parts from these topics : Basic types of fiber forming polymers, their structure and properties influencing spinning ability, polymeric chains characterization. Molecular and super molecular structure of fibers, creation and modification during fiber formation and utilization. Structural models of fibers and methods for structure characterization. Geometrical and surface properties of fibers, micro fibers, surface finishing of fibers. Sorptive properties of fibers, swelling, fibrous super absorbents. Thermal properties of fibers, special fibers with improved thermal stability. Mechanical properties of fibers, fibers with improved modulus and high tenacity fibers. Fibers flammability and methods of flame retardancy. Electrical properties of fibers, conductive fibers, antistatic fibers. Special high functional fibers, antimicrobial fibers. Fiber friction, lubrication. Fixation and stabilization of fibers. Basic types of textile fibers, structure, properties and utilization.
