Course content
1) Color order systéme I - Mayer, Lambert, Runge, Goethe, Munsell 2) Color order systéme I - Natural Color System (NCS), Ostwald, PANTONE, RAL, COLORCURVE 3) Human color vision - Structure and function of the eye. The mechanism of vision and color vision deficiencies. 4) Color measurement. Reflectance spectro-photometers and colorimeters.. 5) Illumination, Metamerism, Visual color assessment. 6) The 1931 CIE XYZ system, UCS - uniform color scale and chromacity diagrams and CIELAB color space. 7) Color-difference dE*. Color-difference formulae - CMC, CIE 1994 and CIE 2000 8) Shade sorting - 555 and cluster systems. Indices - whiteness, yellowness, fastness 9) Color appearance - Color constancy and chromatic adaptation. Color appearance models - CIECAM02. 10) Color management - color gamut, softcopy and hardcopy, ICC profiles. 11) Colorant - Chemical principles of coloration - Witt theory, Absorption and scattering of light. Kubelka-Munk function. Spectrophotometric curve matching. 12) Color-changeable colorants, Dye set preparation and color gamut. Recipe match prediction. Labs: Solving of practical problems, laboratory projects.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)

Learning outcomes
Topic of these courses is to present for students the systems, principles used in coloristic. The courses are divided: Introduction, Basic terms, Physiology of color perception, Visual illusions and defections of color perception, Visual color assessment, Color systems, Color spaces CIE XYZ, CIELAB, Color differences, Color appearance, Color management, Color appearance by monitor, ICC profiles, Colorants, Color matching, E-business and calibration product appearance
Knowledge lectured subject - theoretically and practically.
