1. History of textile fibers. History of the term textile microplastics. 2. Definition of fibers, classification, morphology. 3. Natural fibers. 4. Chemical fibers. 5. Polymer materials for fiber production. 6. Lengthwise textiles. 7. Flat textiles - nonwoven textiles. 8. Flat textiles - woven fabrics. 9. Flat textiles - knitted fabrics. 10. Clothing industry. Digital product passport. 11. Methods of mechanical testing of textile materials. 12. Physiological properties of flat textiles. 13. Methods of analysis of textile materials. 14. System for labeling textile fibers and related labeling of material composition and environmental labeling of textile products (EU) No. 1007/2011.

Learning outcomes
|
Students will acquire knowledge in the field of textile fibers, linear and flat textiles in terms of chemical composition, structure, basic mechanical, chemical, and physiological properties. They will acquire basic skills in laboratory work focused on the evaluation of fibers and textiles (optical microscopy laboratory, physical and mechanical properties laboratory).
Knowledge of the subject matter covered in this courseboth theoretical and practical.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Credit: Completion of all laboratory exercises, preparation of a term paper. Examination: combined (written exam compulsory + option of oral exam).
