Course content
Textile materials for filtration of liquids and airbags 1. Intake air filters, typical materials used for their production, production technology, filters for special use. 2. Cabin and pollen filters. Required properties, typical materials, production technology. 3. Filters for car liquid filtration. Fuel filters - design, properties, materials for their production. Oil filters - types, materials, production technology. Trims, carpets, floors 4. Upholstery, floors,panels. Requirements, production technologies and technological processes, raw materials 5. Door panels, headliners. Requirements, production technologies, used materials 6. Seats. Requirements, production technologies, used materials, testing. 7. Tires. Requirements, design, materials used, production technology, testing the required properties. 8. Hose. Production of hoses for cooling, fuel and cooling systems. Used materials, machinery and equipment for the production of hoses, process of production, ensuring the fulfillment of the requirements of the goods. Security materials 9. Safety belts. Production technologies, used materials, testing. 10. Airbags. Production technologies, used materials, testing. 11. Construction materials 12. Composites 13. Acoustic materials Classification of materials according to their acoustic function: sound-absorbing, sound-proofing and vibration damping non-woven fabrics, production technology, ensuring the required properties. 14. Excursion Exercises: During the semester, students prepare a semester work, which they advocate in the form of a short lecture Excercise: Students during study prepare semestral work, which they defense in the form of a short lecture.

Summary of applications of textile materials in automotive industry. For each application field is described: raw materials, testing, technology and used materials.
