Course content
1. The influence of globalization and mission of the clothing industry and development of the technical clothing in the EU. The materials used for technical clothing production, specifics of the technical clothing production (sewing, machines, joining). 2. The professional clothes, work clothes, classification, clothing requirements, clothes individualization. 3. High visibility clothing. 4. The medical protective clothing, the healthcare disposable clothing: production methods, materials, antibacterial requirements. 5. The fire protective clothing, the flame retardant clothing, the aluminized clothing, the safety vest for policies and military, the high visibility clothing. 6. The flame retardancy of the textile materials, the flame retardant testing of automotive interior covers, the vehicle seat covers, upholstered furniture, heat and flame protection clothing. Standards, methods, testing. 7. Production of tents, halls, shelters, covers cars. 8. Production of textile parts in cars, especially car seats: history, development, organization of spreading, cutting process and sewing process. 9. The materials for the seat covers, distribution and definition of requirements placed on these materials, the methods of evaluating the properties of seat covers materials. 10. Evaluation of comfort and properties of car seats. 11. Production of head restraints, airbags and seat belts. 12. The application of modern elements to increase the useful properties of car seats, the application of electronics. 13. The car seats are improving passenger comfort: air conditioning, car seat heating, massage car seats, inflatable car seats and airscarf. Measurement of temperature and humidity fields. 14. Recapitulation of lectures, specification of the conditions of the written and oral exam. Exercises: This is a continuation to the issues discussed in lectures. The main attention is paid to the assessment of textile materials for car seat covers: evaluation of color fastness (aging, UVCON), abrasion, color fastness to abrasion, fire resistance, evaluation of seating comfort.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the development of technical confection and automotive confection in the world. Students will learn the materials used for the production of car seat covers and other technical confection. Students will be acquainted with the basic overview of the properties and ready-made processing of working and protective clothing and methods of testing special utility properties of protective clothing and fire resistance evaluation of special clothing. They will also be acquainted with the production process of car seat covers and new trends in the development of seats and other interior elements. Theoretical study is supplemented by specialized excursions to selected companies.
Students will acquire knowledge from the area of this subject.
