Course content
Topics of lectures: 1.The theory of the clothing product designing. Preparation of a technical documentation. 2.Standards relating to the evaluation of the clothing products quality. 3.Proposed garment analysis of the shape and purpose. Theoretical principles of selecting the appropriate type of clothing fabric for the realization of clothing (shell, lining, interlining, filling materials and accessories). 4.Evaluation of mechanical properties of the clothing fabric and the prediction of the parts of clothing in the 3D shape. 5.Fabric mechanical properties assessment as a input parameters for pattern making with respect to the shape of the proposed garment. 6.Creation of the technical documentation manually and using CAD systems. Master pattern creation, lay planning, utilisation determination. 7.Set of the technology operations and graphical analysis. Content Exercise: Students make practical use the knowledge from lectures. Partial work deals with the technical project of the specific garment in apparel laboratory.

Learning outcomes
Elaboration of the technical project of clothing products, with emphasis on the formal design in terms of ergonomy specific activities, properties of clothing materials and appropriate technology. Students gain information of the preparation of a technical documentation for clothing outsourcing production. Practically verification of theoretical knowledge in frame of technical description determination of the clothing product to ensure its production. They will get technical skills to use a computer technology and project presentations.
Student gains the ability to carry out the project clothing product at a high technical level.
