Course content
|
Topics of lectures: 1. Sustainability management: Nature as the basis of well-being. 2. Global climate change: Threat and/or opportunity? 3. Sustainable development management 4. Environmental policy for sustainability management 5. Waste management and sustainable use of resources 6. Circular economy: Closing the loop 7. Classification of environmental policy instruments and characteristics of selected administrative and economic instruments 8. Characteristics of selected voluntary environmental policy instruments 9. Sustainable business: Present and future outlook. Current topics related to sustainable development will be discussed during the exercises. At the end, there will be a presentation of semester projects.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject introduces students to the principal theoretical findings in environmental policy and their practical applications.
The course introduces students to the main theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of environment and sustainable development, conservation and sustainable use of resources, environmental policy and instruments.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Oral presentation of self-study
The condition for graduation is the preparation and defense of a semester project on a given topic and passing a written exam. The course includes lectures by experts from practice. Attendance at lectures by experts from practice is mandatory for full-time students, while attendance at other lectures is not mandatory.
