Course content
Topics: 1. Enterprise as a system, entrepreneurial surroundings. 2. Production and economic activities of enterprises. 3. Supplying activities. Inventory function and classification. 4. Inventory theory. Static and dynamic models of inventory management. 5. Production activities. Production management models. 6. Sales activities. Models of distribution systems management. Seminars: Numerical tasks and case studies focused on applications of quantitative methods in enterprises.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to get knowledge of an entrepreneurial system, its structure and hierarchy, with fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of decision-making process models construction, and their solution through quantitative methods. The course will broaden and deepen present knowledge of students in the fields of modern managerial approaches which are more frequent used in the practice.
Students obtain knowledge of mathematical methods which can be used for solution of decision-making tasks in the business administration and management.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of mathematics, statistics and management on bachelor level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Credit: elaboration of a seminar work focused on application of selected methods solving managerial and entrepreneurial tasks. Written exam, min. 60 % of knowledge/points.
