Course content
Lectures: 1) Social security and social services (concept, legislation, organization, social insurance, social care, social services, social care benefits, care allowance, social security in the EU ...). Assistance in material need (concept, legislation, organization, proceeding on benefits, benefits; subsistence and subsistence minimum). 2) State social support (concept, legislation, organization of state social support, proceeding on benefits, types of benefits, beneficiaries). Pension insurance and sickness insurance (concept, legislation, organization, insured persons, types of pensions, conditions of entitlement to individual pensions, waiting period, support period; social security insurance; supplementary pension insurance, sickness insurance benefits, withdrawal period ...). 3) Health insurance (concept, legislation, organization, insured, conditions of care and its reimbursement, health insurance companies, premiums for public health insurance). 4) Basic concepts of labor law (concept, sources, subject, function, position in the legal system, relation to other branches of law, principles of labor relations ...). Legal facts, events and acts in labor law (concept, requisites, defects of legal acts - invalidity, transfer of rights, termination of rights, deadlines ...). 5) Employment relationship (concept; types; participants; content; elements; creation, termination and change of employment relationship ...). Employment (concept, subjects, object, content, types, origin, change, termination, termination, employment contract, probationary period, work discipline and work order, vacation, remuneration for work, barriers to work, OSH, employee care .. .). Agreements on work performed outside employment (DPP, DPČ). 6) Collective labor law (concept, subjects, trade unions, collective bargaining, collective agreement, strike ...). 7) Employment (concept, legislation, state employment policy, subjects, unemployment and retraining support, active and passive employment policy, employment of foreigners, employment of disabled persons, control activities ...). Compensation of damages (concept, content, forms, types, employee's liability, employer's liability ...). Seminars: 1) The subject of labor law, its sources and position in the system of law. 2) Employment. 3) Termination of employment. 4) Liability and damages in labor law. 5) Labor law disputes - case studies. 6) Constitutional aspects of protection of social rights, case law of the Constitutional Court. 7) Basic principles of social security.

Learning outcomes
Students will learn the main concepts and problem areas of social security law and labor law, they will be introduced to the functioning of the above mentioned legal sectors in the Czech law together with the context of the social work and the social policy.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme. Students will gain competence to apply knowledge from this course in practice.
Prerequisites
Students don't need special knowledge or visit other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Oral presentation of self-study

Participation in seminars, active elaboration of all assigned tasks, the student prepares the assigned seminar paper and then passes the written exam. Verification of acquired knowledge and skills by examination. Exam: Written test Test from subject content with a success rate of at least 60%.
