Course content
Lectures: 1. Signification of mass unevenness in the textile technology. Technics of measurement. 2. Select knowledge from the theory of random functions as the basis of mass irregularity applied theory. 3. Linear and quadratic unevenness of longitudinal textiles. 4. Limiting irregularity, production unevenness, machine unevenness, index of irregularity. 5. Frequent few marked defects, thin places, thick places, neps. 6. Disturbing defect, Uster Classimat system, yarn clearing. 7. Mathematical - statistical method for elaboration of file of unevenness date and defects. 8. Evaluation of level of unevenness parameters and defects by the help of Uster Statistics. 9. Spectrogram of harmonical components of mass unevenness and its practical applications. 10. Variance - length function (unevenness gradient) and its practical applications. DR function. 11. Unevenness in plain in relation to mass unevenness of linear textiles- theoretical premises. 12. Experimental exhibits of influence of different mass unevenness structure on the unevenness in plain (woven fabric, knitted fabric). 13. Mass unevenness components of spinning products and technological possibilities their minimisation. 14. Development trends in area of measuring and control of mass unevenness of linear textiles and unevenness in plain inclusive of supplemental measuring (hairiness of yarns). Practise: 1. Repetition of fundamental calculations in the spinning technology, calculations of limit unevenness. 2.-3. Calculations of production and machine unevenness, aplication of system Uster Statistics for evaluation of mass irregularity parameters level and defects. 4.-5. Analysis and evaluation of different type of spectrograms. 6. Analysis and evaluation of variance - length functions. 7. Test and credit.

Learning outcomes
Within this course students obtain view of basic of statistical dynamics and theory of the mass unevenness. The contents of this subject: parameters and characteristic functions (spectrogram, variance - length function and DR function), testers for unevenness - analysis, evaluation and utilisation in the technology, types of defects. There are also mentioned: the influence of the technological and control processes on the structure of the mass unevenness, types of irregularity of longitudinal textiles and unevenness and defects of the flat textiles, relation between linear and flat textiles in term of unevenness, evaluation, identification of the cause and their elimination.
Student is able to evaluate reasons of irregularity of linear textiles and implications of this irregularity for unevenness of flat textiles.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of spinning, weaving and knitting.
