Course content
Courses: 1.- 3. Technological process of material preparation and fabric manufacturing 4.- 6. Weaving loom definition - shutless looms, weft insertion 7. Dobby sheding mechanism 8. Construction of dobby fabric, definition of weave in woven fabric 9.-10. basic weaves, 11. excursion 12. Jacquard sheding mechanism 13. - 14.CAD system for woven fabric design Practices 1. Basic parameters of fabric 2. Warping - CCI warp machine 3. CCI weaving loom - dobby fabric possibilities 4.-5. Project 1: realisation and weaving of dobby fabric using CCI weaving loom 6. Mechanical jacquard loom for production of narrow fabric 8. Simple jacquard fabric design 9. Excursion 10. - 13. Project 2: realisation and weaving simple jacquard fabric on electronic sheding mechanisms Staubli, using EAT system DesignScopeVictor CAD 14. Presentation and defence of the project.

Learning outcomes
Within this subject students obtain information about these areas: weaving and individual operation of materials preparation for weaving (winding, warping, sizing, drawing-in); characterisation of shed and possibilities in interlacing of threads - dobby and jacquard sheding mechanisms, basic principles of the weaving technology; theoretical aspects of the weaving process; definition of weaving loom, weft insertion possibilities. Basic weaves as well as design of dobby and jacquard fabric.
Orientation in these fields: technology of material preparation for weaving, basic principles of weaving technology, weaving looms and individual mechanisms, basic weaves.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of textiles.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Student's performance analysis

Credit: Presentation and defence of project work. Examination: oral. Lectures (first enrolment) are required. Lectures for second and third enrolment are not required, but are recommended. In the case of the second and third enrolment, the credit is not recognized. It is necessary to complete the practices and thus submit projects 1 and 2. Distance form: Active participation with the teacher in the distance form within the assigned topics, elaboration of the assignment of the relevant topics assigned by the distance form. Submission of assignments and project work Exam: oral.
