Learning outcomes
Students will deepen their knowledge of the linear textiles from staple fibres in terms of their formation and properties with respect to the technological conditions of production. At the beginning of the course, the basic parameters of the fibres in relation to yarn spinning technology and yarn quality are mentioned. Students are further acquainted with the important properties of the linear textiles, namely the mass unevenness in terms of measurement and, above all, the evaluation in relation to yarn spinning technology. Within the course, the attention is also paid to the construction and properties of yarns spun by different spinning systems. The impact of the most important process variables of spinning systems on the yarn properties is analysed. Both twisted and fancy yarns are analysed in terms of their construction and production possibilities.
The student can specify the influence of selected machine-technology parameters of spinning machines on yarn properties. He understand the problems of mass unevenness in terms of its measurement and evaluation. He has a basic overview about the production of core, cable and fancy threads.
